As part of the national Operation Sceptre Knife Crime Week of Action, officers from Birmingham City Council’s Community Safety Team and West Midlands Police’s Sutton Trinity Neighbourhood Team joined up to raise awareness and keep the community safe.
Teams were out at Sutton Train Station, McDonald’s and along the High Street, engaging with residents, businesses, and young people. Officers shared information about knife surrender bins and bleed kits, distributing leaflets to make sure everyone knows where these life-saving resources are located.
A knife arch was set up at the entrance to McDonald’s, reinforcing the message that carrying knives is never the answer. Officers also carried out patrols and worked closely with the National Rail Security Team, highlighting the services available to support safety across the transport network.
This partnership activity is part of our ongoing commitment to tackling knife crime and protecting communities.
