Support for Young People

Staying Safe This Summer

Summer should be a time to relax, have fun and spend time with friends and family. But sometimes things happen that can make you feel worried, uncomfortable or unsafe.

You might be feeling pressured by other people, having problems in a friendship or relationship, being bullied, getting unwanted messages online, dealing with controlling behaviour, struggling with your mental health, or worrying about violence, abuse or harassment. You might also be concerned about a friend and want to know how to help them.

If something makes you feel worried, upset, unsafe, confused, or just doesn’t feel right, talk to someone you trust. Getting support early can help, and you do not have to deal with things on your own.

Whether you need help for yourself or you’re worried about someone else, the organisations below offer free, confidential advice, information and support throughout the summer holidays.

In an emergency, always call 999. An emergency is when someone is in immediate danger, seriously injured, needs urgent medical help, or a crime is happening right now. If you’re not sure what to do, calling 999 can help you get the right support quickly.
