Birmingham Pride returns this weekend, bringing thousands of people into the city for two days of celebration, colour and community. The Community Safety Partnership team will be working alongside partners to help ensure everyone can enjoy the event safely.
What We’re Doing
You’ll see our city centre officers throughout the day and our night‑time economy officers across the evening and night‑time period. They’ll be offering support, monitoring ASB, and providing reassurance in busy areas. The ASB officers at New Street Station will also be there to help manage the increased number of visitors.
Moving Around the City
Large crowds are expected, especially around the parade route and Southside in Digbeth. Some road closures will be in place, so plan your journey in advance and allow extra time to get around.
Using the WalkSafe App
Birmingham has now commissioned the WalkSafe app, which offers real‑time safety tools to support your journey during Pride. The App provides real‑time safety information, route planning, and tools to help you stay connected with friends or family whilst travelling. If you’re heading home late or moving between venues, WalkSafe can be a helpful extra layer of reassurance. More info and how to download the App can be found HERE
If Something Doesn’t Feel Right
We’re asking everyone attending to help keep Pride safe. If you see behaviour that concerns you, or something that just doesn’t feel right, speak to a police officer, security staff, or one of our officers. Early reporting helps us respond quickly and effectively.
Enjoying the Night‑Time Economy
If you’re out late, stay with friends, keep an eye on your belongings, and look after one another. Our officers will be on hand to support anyone who needs assistance.
🌈 Wishing You a Safe and Happy Pride🌈
We’re proud to support this important event for our city. Whether you’re celebrating, performing, working, or supporting others, we hope you have a safe, enjoyable and memorable Pride weekend!
